Developer One More Level's Ghostrunner 2 is an unbelievably fast-paced game, demanding quick reflexes and counteractions in a split second. This is because both foes and the protagonist, Jack, can die in a single hit. To aid with this, the Sensory Boost offers some leeway to react to various aggressive attacks from foes or quick platforming hazards.
To use Sensory Boost, players essentially use the Dash command. Here are the controls:
- On keyboard & mouse: Press and hold the Left Shift button to enter Sensory Boost
- On controller: Press and hold RB on the Xbox Series X|S controller and R1 on the PlayStation 5 controller
As mentioned before, using it enables a bullet-time mode, thus slowing things around. There is a catch, however; it ties into the brand-new stamina mechanic, In other words, as long as the Sensory Boost is active, it will drain Jack's stamina.
This is bad since no stamina will leave the Ghostrunner vulnerable to incoming attacks since stamina is also used to block and parry.
So, you will need to use Sensory Boost in short bursts to make the most out of it. When an enemy attacks with a projectile, quickly enable use it to dodge out of the way and swoop in for the kill. But it has more uses than just combat. Sensory Boost can be incredibly helpful for landing tricky jumps by allowing players to position themselves better.
This is especially true during the cyber void parkour segments, as many of the challenges throughout the campaign have time-limit elements.
Can Sensory Boost be enhanced or made more efficient using Upgrade chips
Upgrade chips in Ghostrunner 2 help enhance many of Jack's abilities. Some can help manage Sensory Boost and its subsequent usage combined with other moves better.
- Artificial Senses: Sensory Boost consumes 25% less stamina. At just one Install Cost, it is a must-have for all Ghostrunner builds
- Hydraulics Adjustment: Dashing consumes 15% less stamina. Equip this chip in the last column socket to allow Jack's dash to consume 25% less stamina instead
