What will happen at the end of Apex Legends Season 21 Split 1?

On June 25, 2024, the developers are slated to deploy a new mid-season patch to introduce fresh gameplay elements and cosmetics. The biggest change that players need to brace for is the Ranked reset which means you will need to start the grind once again in a race for the highest rank.

The devs experimented with removing splits in a season in the past but brought it back after popular demand and ranked changes. A soft reset allows the entire player base to start fresh and grind the game from the lowest tier up to Masters and even Predator. This can also sometimes help reset account ratings instead of being hard-stuck on different ranks while fighting in lobbies with higher-ranked players.

The Battle Pass progress will not be reset and you can continue completing all daily and weekly missions to gain stars and experience points. A different set of maps will be available for both casual and ranked modes including different Limited Time Modes (LTMs) in the Mixtape.

Another big change is the arrival of the Quads game mode which is going to replace Solos in the unranked playlist. You can squad up with three other members and play the game from a brand new perspective. However, the lobby will maintain a total of 60 players which means there will be 15 teams.

Unfortunately, fans will not receive a four-seater Trident variant in this update. The new vehicle might be reserved for the next seasonal update and can potentially be revealed with the arrival of the District map in Season 22.
