The release date for the 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight is July 25, 2024. The mode will be available for a limited time until August 8, 2024, after which developers will use the player feedback to refine the gameplay.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when this new mode will become a permanent option in the game. However, we do know Behaviour plans to bring it back after necessary tweaks and improvements as it did say during the livestream that it is the “first iteration.”
Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode explained
Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 mode is designed for fast-paced gameplay, where two killers team up and hunt down eight survivors. Players will be able to choose from five maps: Autohaven Wreckers, Macmillan Estate, Red Forest, Crotus Penn Asylum, and Coldwind Farm. The maps will be larger than usual and feature 13 generators. Survivors will need to fix at least eight generators to beat the killers.
There will be no Hooks and Perks in this mode. Survivor Perks are being swapped for a class system to facilitate teamwork while Killers will receive alterations to their powers to capture the Survivors. Upon being caught, survivors will be sent to cages, and they will be able to heal themselves after two cage states.
