How to find the Keycard in The Forest

The journey to the Keycard begins near a prominent landmark on the map known as the Giant Sinkhole. It's an easy marker to start from, making it a perfect reference point. From here, players should head west. While using a compass is a great option, the North-facing mountain visible in the background serves as a great visual cue to help stay on track.

Find the shipping containers and cave entrance

As you head west from the Giant Sinkhole, you will eventually spot some shipping containers near the ocean. Right next to the containers, there’s a cave entrance by a pile of rocks. This entrance leads directly to the Keycard. It’s a clear marker, making it hard to miss. Once inside the cave, the real journey begins.

Once you’re inside the cave, continue forward. It can get a little dark but try to stay on track. Along the way, you’ll pass a tent where you can grab some tape. Do so quickly and keep moving forward.

Eventually, you’ll come across a hole leading further down. At the bottom, you’ll encounter an Armsy enemy. Don’t worry too much about it — just pass by and keep heading down. You’ll soon see another rope along the path, but it’s not necessary to take that route just yet. Instead, keep going down till you reach a spot where you'll have to duck under a ledge.

As you continue, you’ll run into two enemies. You can either take them out from above or drop down and deal with them head-on. Once you’ve defeated these enemies, continue forward. You’ll come across another rope, but don’t take it just yet. Keep moving forward.

You’ll eventually reach a barricade that you’ll need to break through. Proceed through that to encounter another Armsy and some babies. It’s up to you how you want to handle them — just clear the area and move on.

At this point, you’ll find yourself in a room filled with bodies. At the back of the room, you’ll spot a man holding the Keycard. There’s also a video camera sitting on a rock. You can pick it up if you’d like, but it’s not necessary for progressing.
