Marvel Rivals has a list of rewards that one can earn by simply playing the game. However, a chunk of items also happens to be locked behind paywalls. Since the game is free-to-play, it is expected to come with microtransactions. But simpler items like nameplates might work better as incentives for the player base. u/Cbas_619 created a post on Reddit, questioning if the nameplates can be made progression-based and said:
“Why aren’t these earnable with progression?”

u/Cbas_619 attached a cropped image of Marvel Rivals nameplates in the post and expressed concern over the method of acquiring them. u/TheeDeputy commented about the same and agreed, stating that items like banners and nameplates should be tied to character proficiency. This would make it more worthwhile for fans to grind the game and receive regular rewards at different intervals.
Another Reddit user, u/TomVinPrice, compared the game to Overwatch 2 and cited that while Marvel Rivals is performing well, there are some areas that could use some changes. They pointed out that the cosmetics and other in-game trinkets cost a lot. The amount of free rewards and skins that can be earned by simply playing the game is quite low, which could prove to be detrimental in later stages.

Most of the community also commented about the confusing progression spread across the game. There are several activities that one can complete, including daily challenges, character proficiency, and story rewards. Although the game has a distinct tab for almost each of the task categories, the variety of challenges itself could make progression difficult.
u/ImBatman5500 commented and shared their concern over the fact that the account level progression has no role in the game other than unlocking competitive play at level 10. The devs might take note of this issue and bring in more rewards in future seasonal updates.

For each completed achievement, you will gain points, which will increase your progression. The progression bar will also showcase the intervals at which you can earn different rewards. The rewards for each task are different and can help you expand your cosmetics collection. It is important to note that the achievements cannot be earned in Practice vs AI mode.
