Marvel Rivals Season 0 has been a great success for NetEase Games so far. In less than a month, the game attracted 20 million users, making it one of the most successful live-service shooter games. Considering the game is free, it solely relies on in-game purchases, similar to other hero shooters.
The game has three types of currencies: Chrono Tokens, Lattices, and Units. The Chrono Tokens are used to unlock Battle Pass items. A sufficient amount of these tokens can be earned by completing daily missions and seasonal events. However, if you are short of Chronos Tokens, you can exchange them with Lattices, which can only be purchased with real money.
In the latest "Dev Diaries" blog on the official Marvel Rivals website, the developers talked about what will remain permanently from Season 0 and what will be changing moving forward to the first season. Unfortunately, Chrono Tokens will not be carried to the next season.

What happens to Chronos Tokens in the next season of Marvel Rivals?
The December 24, 2024 blog on the game's website talks about two things primarily: Battle Pass and Chrono Tokens. While they made it very clear within the first sentence that the Luxury Battle Pass does not expire and the items remain in the player's inventory forever, they said the following regarding Chrono Tokens:
"Chrono Tokens Refresh: After the automatic redemption, any remaining Chrono Tokens will be cleared and your total will be reset to zero."
However, they also acknowledged the Marvel Rivals community's concerns about losing unused Chrono Tokens, especially those purchased with Lattice, and outlined a plan to address it. If players have unused tokens that were acquired using Lattices, a portion of these tokens will carry over to Season 1. However, it does not mention how many.
Additionally, the game will attempt to minimize Chrono Token losses by redeeming possible items in the Battle Pass (both free and paid) automatically and adding them to the player's collections. From Season 1, players will be able to see their Lattice-purchased tokens directly in the game interface.
Despite having three types of currency in the game already, NetEase Games are reportedly planning to add two new currency types named Crystallization and Marscoin in Season 1, alongside new Lootboxes and a lottery system.
