Exploring the possibilities of Delta Force Hawk Ops becoming Battlefield killer
Delta Force Hawk Ops and Battlefield share a lot of similarities. Both are military shooters with an emphasis on realism.
During their prime, Battlefield games were known to deliver some of the best visuals in the genre with realistic gunplay, large-scale warfare on open maps, destructible environments, vehicular fights, and more. These features had become synonymous with the series.
Delta Force Hawk Ops intends to bring all of these features to the table and more. The popular EA shooter, which was once known to be the go-to game for military shooter enthusiasts, is no longer the only option for fans to drop into.
As Battlefield's popularity dwindles, and fans slowly move to other shooters in the genre, Delta Force might just be the final nail in the coffin for the iconic EA series.
However, you might now wonder what exactly makes the Delta Force the possible Battlefield killer if both deliver the same experience.
There are quite a few reasons to come to this conclusion. The first is accessibility. Delta Force is a completely free-to-play game, which will instantly make it available to anyone who wants to try it out without having to spend a single penny.
On the other hand, unless Battlefield 2042 is selling at a discount, you are expected to pay $70 to just play the game. On top of that, there are microtransactions built into it.
Secondly, Delta Force is more than just large-scale warfare and destructible maps. It also features an Escape from Tarkov-like extraction shooter mode, along with a campaign that is based on the original Delta Force Black Hawk Down game, where American soldiers fight on the soil of Mogadishu.
These two reasons alone make a compelling case for Delta Force Hawk Ops. However, it is never that simple.
Battlefield has a long legacy that will attract hardcore fans of the series whenever a new entry drops. As for Delta Force, this is the first time we are getting a DF game since 2009 and from a completely new team of developers. Hence, fans although excited, are skeptical.

The answer to whether Delta Force Hawk Ops can become the Battlefield killer cannot be a simple yes or no yet. It will all come down to the quality of the shooter (in terms of gameplay, gunplay, features, and more) and players' reactions to it.
These two factors will determine the fate of Delta Force and whether it will deal the final blow to the Battlefield series. However, the legacy of Battlefield can still help the series not only survive but thrive if its next entry does away with all the flaws that have led to its downfall in recent times.
