Final Fantasy 16 will be officially released for the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023, making it one of the most anticipated ARPG launches this year. With Square Enix already providing fans with a fair bit of gameplay and a story trailer ahead of launch, there has been a good deal of excitement amongst franchise veterans as to what they can expect from the title.

While there are many curious about the new gameplay systems that the game will be arriving with, many are also curious about the platforms that the game will arrive in. While on launch the title will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, many are wondering if and when will it be getting a port to PC via Steam, Epic Games, or other possible storefronts.

Final Fantasy 16 will make its way to PC as Sony and the developers have confirmed that the game will only be a timed exclusive on the PlayStation 5.

Hence, like the other franchise entries, the upcoming title will be getting a PC port; however, fans should not be expecting that any time soon. At least not in 2023.

While Final Fantasy 16 will eventually be making its way to PC, players should not be expecting the port before 2024. In the recent Japanese PlayStation Blog, Naoki Yoshida confirmed that players should not be expecting a PC port of the game before early 2024; hence, it’s speculated that it will be making its way to the platform by the middle of next year.

When it comes to some of the expectations that players can have about the PC port of the game, one can expect the game to feature support for higher resolutions along with framerates and textures.

Widescreen support might also be a thing, along with improved Ray Tracing, DLSS, and Deal Sense compatibility. However, none of these features are confirmed by the developers; hence players should take this bit of speculation with a bit of salt.

Judging from how Square Enix has dealt with PC ports for previous franchise entries, it’s highly likely that the game will not be a buggy mess like most AAA titles feature once they are ported to PC.
