After a long wait, fans will finally be able to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in a few days from now. The title is expected to feature the biggest ever campaign ever for any MachineGames title so far. However, will this AAA title feature a DRM like Denuvo? Let's find out.

Like most modern video games, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will also include a DRM. That said, it's not Denuvo. As is the case with all Xbox Game Studio titles, an option to link your Microsoft account will pop up when you load this title as well.

However, you can choose to skip or ignore it. As the game is published by Bethesda Softworks, you will also stumble upon an optional Bethesda.net login prompt as well.

Can you play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle offline on PC?

The title will not feature any third-party DRMs like Denuvo. As mentioned previously, you will witness two in-house DRMs while playing the game on PC — the Steam overlay and the Xbox Game Pass overlay. This means that the game is playable offline.

However, do note that if you pre-order the Premium Edition of Indiana Jones, you will need to connect to the internet while launching the game for the first time. Standard Edition owners, on the other hand, can play the game in offline mode from the get-go.

What is Denuvo protection and why are PC gamers so critical of it?

Denuvo is a protective measure used in modern video games to prevent piracy. While it verifies all your game files before launching the game, this process requires you to connect to the internet.

Denuvo is a nightmare for those who pirate video games and it is not much liked by those buying legitimate copies either. The reason behind this is simple. Denuvo verifies every single detail of a game. This process takes a lot of time, leading to longer loading times.

Many gamers consider this an ordeal because, despite paying for it, they get a copy of the game that is slower and requires an active internet connection at all times.

Not to mention, there are video games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 that turn out to be extremely successful despite not having Denuvo protection.
