Will the Inquisitor return in Dragon Age The Veilguard: Returning characters and storylines explored

With the release of Dragon Age The Veilguard on the horizon, one of the biggest questions fans of the DA series might have is if the Inquisitor, your player character from Inquisition will make a return. This question was mainly sparked by the gameplay trailer for the upcoming RPG, which showcased several major characters from Dragon Age Inquisition, like Harding and Solas.

The trailer made it clear that The Veilguard's story will pick up a few years after Inquisition, specifically The Trespasser DLC as we see Solas enacting his evil plans. How the story progresses will become apparent once the game launches on October 31, 2024.

As for the Inquisitor, BioWare has confirmed that the protagonist of the third game will return in Dragon Age The Veilguard. Whether they play a major role in the game's story remains unclear, however.

Varric Tethras is another fan-favorite character who will return to the franchise. He first appeared in Dragon Age 2 and then again in The Inquisition. Although he returns in DA The Veilguard, he won't be playable sadly, and will likely emerge as a mentor figure to Rook.

The Inquisitor

Your player character in the third Dragon Age game is called the Inquisitor and BioWare has confirmed that they will return in The Veilguard. Given Inquisition came out almost a decade ago and many of you won't have access to the game's save file, BioWare has designed a secondary character creator. You can use this to design The Inquisitor in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

Lace Harding

One of the most beloved party members from The Inquisition is also returning to The Veilguard. Scout Harding will be available as one of the playable characters who assists the Rook in stopping Solas's evil plans. Notably, she will also emerge as a romantic interest in DA The Veilguard.

Morrigan the Witch

Morrigan is one of the fan-favorite characters who first appeared in Dragon Age Origins. The red-clad witch was a romance option who the Grey Warden (protagonist of DA Origins) could eventually marry. She also appeared in The Inquisition and played a supporting role. Morrigan is set to return in Dragon Age The Veilguard as was showcased in the official release date trailer.

Last but not least is Solas, a major character in Dragon Age The Inquisition and one of the many romantic choices. During the game's Trespasser expansion, Solas revealed himself as the Fen'Harel, or the Dreadwolf who wants to restore elven supremacy in the world of Thedas.

Solas will return in Dragon Age The Veilguard and act as one of the major antagonists whom Rook must stop at all costs.
