Will Metaphor: ReFantazio be available on Xbox Game Pass?

The upcoming release of Metaphor: ReFantazio makes it the first fully multiplatform Atlus game built from the ground up for current-gen platforms (minus remakes and ports). This also includes the Xbox Series X|S, and with Microsoft trying its best to gather Japanese game support, the Xbox Game Pass has been an invaluable asset on that front.

Countless Day One game releases have allowed Xbox Game Pass players to experience title launches they would otherwise have not been exposed to or cared enough to check out. That said, is Metaphor: ReFantazio coming to Xbox Game Pass as well? Read on to find out.

As per official details, the game is only debuting on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. Fans who expected publisher SEGA to pull a Persona 3 Reload will be disappointed to know that Metaphor: ReFantazio is not getting a Day One Xbox Game Pass launch or even a launch period, on the game subscription catalog.

Of course, this doesn't mean the game will never arrive on Xbox Game Pass as there is always a future possibility. Plenty of games that have seen simple console launches arrive on the catalog at a later date, so not all hope is lost.

As far as the launch day of the upcoming ATLUS game is concerned, Xbox fans have no choice but to get it on Xbox Series X|S or Microsoft Store.

What is Metaphor: ReFantazio about?

Set in the United Kingdom of Euchronia where the human world is considered to be a work of fiction, players control a young boy who must unravel the mystery behind a curse that has befallen the prince of the kingdom. Additionally, they are also roped into a nation-wide competition to be crowned the king following a series of supernatural events.

What follows is an extensive JRPG adventure across the fantasy realm where the hero must gather allies to prove their worth while utilizing a mysterious power called Archetypes. Players will explore varied biomes and dungeons while engaging in challenging turn-based combat which is what developer ATLUS is known for, thanks to their expertise in the MegaTen franchise.

The game launches on October 11, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
