According to a report by Insider Gaming, the next Battlefield game will be launching with a free-to-play battle royale mode that will follow in the footsteps of Call of Duty: Warzone. It is currently scheduled to go live in 2025. However, no dates have been officially confirmed and it will likely be arriving in the fall of 2025.

This article offers a closer look at BF 2025's battle royale mode and what fans can expect from the shooter.

What to expect from Battlefield 2025 battle royale mode?

Battlefield 2025 will be launching with a free-to-play battle royale mode. Based on the reports, this mode is believed to follow Call of Duty's live service formula, where a new entry in the series will be tied to the battle royale game, similar to Call of Duty integrating their latest releases with Warzone.

The game mode is currently in the works and is being developed by Ripple Effect. It will feature two different types of modes with the first being the battle royale that fans have grown accustomed to and a second mode, called Gauntlet.

In this new game mode, players will be given a series of objectives to complete during a match. Upon completion, they will be rewarded with points. The team or player that scores the lowest points for each such objective, will lose and be out of the match.

The remaining teams or players will move on to the next objective in line until they are the last team or man standing, thus winning the Gauntlet match. This is a new take on the battle royale genre, which has not seen many innovations in recent years.

For those wondering about the period in which the game will be set, it is said to be based on modern-day warfare. After failing to captivate their audience with World War 2-inspired BF5 and futuristic warfare in BF 2042, EA is taking the series to a present-day setting, which some of their most popular installments are based on, such as Battlefield 3 and 4.

Apart from these details, not much is known about the next Battlefield battle royale mode. However, as for BF 2025, the upcoming shooter will reportedly feature 64-player games and the four-class system, enabling players to take on different roles in the battlegrounds, which are Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon, ensuring all playstyles are welcomed and are equally important for that ultimate victory.

That covers everything that there is to know about the BF 2025 battle royale mode at the moment.
