Resident Evil 4 Remake will be getting the “Mercenaries” DLC, as announced by Capcom.
The highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake is now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, letting old and new fans dive into an action-packed, scary adventure. With completely fresh visuals and a familiar story enhanced with some fresh content here and there, Resident Evil 4 Remake has completely hit the mark.
Will the Resident Evil 4 Remake have DLCs?
Capcom has not disclosed any plans for Resident Evil 4 downloadable DLC beyond the April update, The Mercenaries. Yet, Capcom has made post-launch story DLC available for the most recent mainstream Resident Evil titles.
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard received many essential updates in 2017, including the episodes Not A Hero, starring Chris Redfield, and Death of Zoe, which featured a playable Joe Baker. Last year, Resident Evil Village received the story-based Expansion Shadows of Rose, which let players play as Rose Winters.
What is the Resident Evil 4 Remake DLC?
While Capcom recently announced that the fan-favorite mode would return in the Resident Evil 4 remake, the game's March 24 launch trailer revealed that the feature would be introduced as free DLC on April 7. The official Resident Evil website confirms the date, which astonished many fans because it was only two weeks after the remake's release.
While the promotional video does not explicitly indicate this, it is anticipated that the DLC will only be available to players once they have completed the game, as The Mercenaries mode did in 2005 initially.
What are the “Separate Ways” for Resident Evil 4?
Separate Paths is an optional extra for Resident Evil 4 that allows players to control Ada Wong on her journey, which frequently crosses with the main game's events. In the original Separate Ways, Ada does things like ring the church bell to terminate the village's onslaught on Leon, prevent Leon's murder at the hands of Jack Krauser, and acquire the rocket launcher Leon utilizes in the final fight. (In the original Resident Evil 4, there was also a playable chapter called "Assignment: Ada," in which Ada obtains plaga samples for Albert Wesker.)
