A possible redemption arc
As we mentioned in a previous article, Bloober Team's past releases weren't that promising at launch. Since they were often criticized for the buggy nature of their past games, Silent Hill fans weren't very happy when Bloober was announced as the studio behind the remake.
However, judging from the initial Steam reviews of the remake, fans are quite pleased with its launch. Some comments have even lauded the developers for smoothening out performance issues and increasing accessibility options for puzzles and mini-games. On top of it, people have also acknowledged the absence of game-breaking bugs at launch
Though reports of some performance and graphical issues have been raised by fans, it seems like the game, for the most part, avoids the current industry trend of “release now, fix later”, where titles launch in incredibly buggy states.

The success of Silent Hill 2 may herald more collaborations between Bloober and Konami
Konami's library of released games is vast, and many of the fan-favorite are older classics released on platforms like the PS1 and PS2, making them ideal for ground-up remakes. Should the Silent Hill 2 remake be a financial success, the likelihood of future collaborations between the two companies may increase.
The success of this game could also mean that Bloober may be entrusted with similar big-name development projects in the future. Although only time can tell whether that comes to fruition for the Polish developer, if the initial fan reaction to the remake is anything to go by, they are on the right path.
