No, Zeus won’t be a part of God of War Ragnarok as he was killed at the end of God of War 3. God of War: Ragnarok was released on the PS4 and PS5, becoming the biggest PlayStation exclusive since The Last of Us Part 2 released in 2020. Ragnarok is well worth the wait, as it is one of the year's best games. The sequel to God of War has stunning landscapes and thrilling action, but its strongest asset may be its tale.
The connection between Kratos and his son Atreus is at the heart of this story, which sees the two confront the threat of Ragnarok, the fight to end all conflicts. Many fans, however, have worried if Zeus, the King of Olympus, will make the cut.

Who is Zeus?
Zeus is the main enemy of the God of War series' Greek era. He was the Titan King Cronos's youngest child. He rose up the ranks to become King of Olympus and God of the Sky, Thunder, Lightning, and the Heavens. He first appeared as an ally in God of War before becoming the major enemy in God of War II and God of War III.
Not only that, but he was the biological father of several renowned demigods, including Hercules, Perseus, Peirithous, and even the Spartan warrior Kratos, as well as his brother Deimos.
Did Kratos kill Zeus?
At the end of God of War 3, Kratos confronts Zeus and the two fight as Gaia turns up, angry at both the former (her great-grandson) and the latter (her grandson) for the destruction they had caused. But the two men take the fight into Gaia’s chest, where she is eventually killed after Kratos impales Zeus on the Blade of Olympus against her heart.
However, Zeus’ active spirit survives and attacks Kratos, takes away all of his magic and equipment while also inflicting him with fear. But, with Pandora’s help Kratos manages to send Zeus’ astral form into his body, reviving the King of Olympus and then charged at Zeus for one final fight.
That ends with Kratos winning the duel although Zeus' body dissolved and detonated in a massive burst of light following that, causing complete havoc across Greece.
Does Zeus appear in God of War (2018)?
Zeus haunts Kratos even many years after his death. After defeating the Bridge Keeper of Helheim, Kratos notices Zeus' apparition in the sky calling to him. Kratos, astonished by his father's abrupt entrance, informs Mimir that he is Zeus' son. Later on in Hel, Kratos hears past echos of Zeus appealing to him, which he ignores, but later sees, together with Atreus, a ghostly replay of Zeus being battered to death by Kratos.
