“Imagine if they introduce a leveling system where you can pick a new passive every time you level up lol. It's almost like a MOBA.”
@ShakespeareFPS claims they're enjoying the new passives since they get the extra movement speed to flee from a situation after getting an elimination with Sombra.
Among the positive feedback, @illusorythoet states the game doesn’t require more role passives, particularly the ones that reduce cooldowns.
@Matt60805158 expresses that Blizzard should implement more things to balance out the game mode:
“There’s a lot of stuff I'd want it to work on first. For starters when i hit ‘Tab’ i wanna see everyone’s passives. That’s just a UI thing so not guessing as much. Secondly some of those passives are butt on some heroes and WAY too useful on others.”
@PostOfficeXIV stated that they enjoy the role of passives and don't want them to overlap the existing ones.
“I like the idea but wouldn’t want it to stack with the current role passives. I would want the role passives to be one of the choices.”
Following the main post, @mugiwarouge thinks otherwise, they claim the following:
“So far from what I saw, its the opposite thing if u want somewhat decently balanced game.”

Should Blizzard implement the Pickable Passives in Overwatch 2 as a permanent addition?
The addition of Pickable Passives in Overwatch 2 is quite interesting and opens many gates for various play styles. While implementing it into the game’s core may take some time, it might also take a significant amount of time for the players to get used to it.
Moreover, many players enjoy the game's current version without the pickable passives. If Blizzard adds Pickable Passives in Overwatch 2 as a permanent feature, it will surely cause quite a bit of commotion in the community. Therefore, to ensure all players enjoy the game, an Arcade or Custom game mode with the aforementioned abilities is the best choice.
