Wuthering Waves 1.1 patch notes: New features, changes, and optimizations

Wuthering Waves developers Kuro Games have uploaded a preview of Version 1.1 on their official Bilibili account. This update's patch notes provide a lot of insight into the upcoming features and changes set to be introduced. From the looks of things, fans can be excited as there are optimizations to frequently criticized aspects of the game.

This article provides a brief rundown of Wuthering Waves 1.1 Patch notes.

1) Echo system

The Echo system in Wuthering Waves has been the standout feature in the game. It has garnered much praise but has also generated criticism for being quite a grind-heavy system. Version 1.1 will bring a bunch of changes to address these issues, which include,

i) New Tuner Synthesis Feature

  • The Tuner Synthesis feature will allow players to synthesize Medium/Advanced Tuners into higher quality tuners through the Synthesizer.

ii) Increased Union EXP rewards

  • The Union EXP gained from unlocking a new Echo entry will be increased.
  • There will also be compensation for the Union EXP differences depending on the amount of Echo entries players have managed to unlock in Version 1.0.
  • Players can collect this compensation through the in-game mail.

iii) Higher Cost Range for Echoes rewarded through Activity Points

  • 1-cost Echoes will be removed from the Activity Points reward pool.
  • Only 3-cost and 4-cost Echoes will be available in the Activity Points reward pool.

iv) Increased Data Bank level

  • Data Bank level has been increased to 21.
  • All Echoes will be of 5-star rarity after reaching Level 21.

v) Echo Transformation: Mt Firmament exploration

  • You can transform into the Echo "Clang Bang" to explore Mt.Firmament and solve puzzles.

vi) Other optimizations

  • Tacet Field reward collection cutscene has been removed.
  • Shell Credit cost for Echo leveling has been lowered.
  • Cruisewing Challenge has been simplified by reducing speed and increasing the time limit.

2) Events and other rewards

Version 1.0 of Wuthering Waves saw a lot of unique events introduced into the mix. Most of the events provided great rewards that were well worth the time investment. Version 1.1 is set to introduce a plethora of events during the patch. You can find the upcoming events below:

i) Depths of Illusive Realm event content: Dreams Ablaze in Darkness with increased rewards

  • Dreams Ablaze in Darkness will be the new content introduced in the Depths of Illusive Realm gameplay system.
  • New mechanics like Symphony Rank, Memetic Tuning, and Tokens will be introduced
  • 1000 Astrites will be the new total reward which is an increase from Version 1.0.

ii) Mt. Firmament area events

  • Area exploration event named "Tales from Mt. Firmament."
  • Photo collecting event named "Traces of Mt. Firmament."
  • Completing both events can net you 800 Astrites, Premium Sealed Tubes, Premium Resonance Potions, and more.

iii) Oscillated Coral Store: Increased Convene Item exchange limit

  • You will be able to exchange 7 Radiant, Lustrous, and Forging Tides from Version 1.1

iv) Preview of other special events

  • 7-day login event named "Gifts of Celestial Light."
  • Featured commission event named "Lollo Campaign."
  • Featured combat event named "Tactical Simulacra."
  • Level material double drop event named "Aftersound Abundance."
  • Echo double drop event named "Chord Cleansing."
  • More event details will be announced later.

3) Map exploration system

Some important Quality of Life (QoL) changes to the map system and the Lootmapper is set to be introduced in Wuthering Waves 1.1. These are,

i) Mt. Firmament: Layered Map

  • You will be able to switch between multiple layers of the map to easily identify collectibles and navigate smoother in Mt. Firmament.
  • Layered map for areas in Jinzhou will be released later.

ii) Area quest progress

  • You will be able to track the amount of quests and the progress you have made in a particular area.

iii) Lootmaper detection range increase

  • Lootmaper detection range will be increased to make Supply Chest farming easier.

4) Quest and Gallery system

A criticism of Version 1.0 was the lack of a dialogue page to look back and read through the dialogues of important quests that have been completed. Additionally, the number of methods to obtain Activity Points is very limited in the game right now. Kuro Games will be addressing these issues in the following manner:

i) Resonator Gallery

  • You will be able to access the "Crossing Stars" Gallery feature to see all the Resonators you have unlocked along with their unlock time.

ii) Story Dialogue Gallery

  • You will be able to read through the dialogues of all the Main Quest and Companion stories that you have completed.

iii) Lowered level requirements for certain Main Quests

  • Level requirement of Chapter 1 Act 4: Clashing Blades will be lowered from Union Level 14 to Union Level 11.
  • Chapter 1 Act 5 and Chapter 1 Act 6 will be immediately available once the previous chapters are completed.

iv) More quests and daily tasks to obtain Activity Points

  • A host of new quests and daily tasks will be introduced to obtain Guidebook Activity Points.

5) Other optimizations

Some other miscellaneous optimizations will be introduced in Wuthering Waves 1.1 to smoothen the gameplay experience. These include,

i) New Chat System

  • Chatbox will now be displayed at half-screen height.

ii) New tags for Combat Styles

  • More Combat Style tags will be introduced to make it easier to understand a Resonator's primary combat style.

ii) Controller Mode Interaction Optimizations

  • New camera adjustment setting will be introduced. Horizontal and vertical camera controls can be inverted.
  • Shortcut key will be changed from Open Chat to Open Map.
  • Key remapping will be enabled for particular buttons on Playstation controllers to be consistent with remapping options in Xbox controllers.
