Kuro Games has finally announced two new playable characters for the upcoming Wuthering Waves 1.2 updates, namely Xiangli Yao and Zhezhi. While the developers have not revealed their Attributes and weapon types, the drip marketing has confirmed that both are 5-star units. Additionally, some leaks share details about their upcoming Resonators' weapon types and Attributes.

As mentioned, Kuro Games has announced two new 5-star characters named Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao. They will be released in the upcoming Wuthering Waves 1.2 update. Based on the ongoing update schedule, here are the expected release dates of both phases in version 1.2:

• Phase I - August 15, 2024
• Phase II - September 4, 2024

Since the developers revealed Zhezhi first, she will likely be released in the first phase of version 1.2. Meanwhile, Xiangli Yao was revealed second so he is expected to be released in the second phase. Note that this is purely based on Jinhsi and Changli's drip marketing and banner release order. Rovers may have to wait a couple of weeks for official information from the developers.

Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao Attribute and weapon type leaks

According to leaks from Uncle Birdie Window, Zhezhi will likely be a Glacio support unit. It is speculated that the commission painter from Huanglong may pair well with Jinshi. Unfortunately, there is no information about her potential weapon type yet.

The leaker also claims that Xiangli Yao may be a Gauntlet user and not a Pistol user as suggested previously. Additionally, the leaker states that the Principal Investigator of Huaxu Academy may be a main DPS unit with the Lighting Attribute. Xiangli Yao is also expected to be given for free in version 1.2.

Since the information was shared by @hxg_diluc, who has a good track record with leaks, it is safe to assume that the leak is reliable. However, it is still pretty early to say anything since the details are only based on leaks and readers are advised to take it with a grain of salt.
