Wuthering Waves 1.3 livestream summary: Upcoming characters, new area, and more

Kuro Games just released the special broadcast for the upcoming version of Wuthering Waves 1.3 update. Releasing on September 29, 2024, the next part of the rover's journey will take them to the mysterious island of the Black Shores, which will be one of the major additions to the game. As already known from previous marketing efforts, The Shorekeeper and Youhu will make their playable debut in the Wuthering Waves 1.3 update.

Besides the new area and characters, Kuro Games also received the various gameplay events coming in version 1.3, as well as a new story chapter related to the new region. This article will cover everything you need to know about the upcoming Wuthering Waves 1.3 update.

Youhu and The Shorekeeper will join the roster of playable characters in the upcoming version 1.3 of Wuthering Waves. Youhu is interested in antiques that are found around Huanglong and will be the featured 4-star of version 1.3. She can provide buffs to the party members, and her Resonance Liberation has a unique QTE mechanic.

The Shorekeeper will be the featured 5-star and is skilled at sustaining the team. She can transform into a butterfly and traverse the map easily with high speed.

New Weapons

A new set of 4-star weapons will be added to the game in version 1.3 which you can obtain using the Convene System. Additionally, The Shorekeeper's best-in-slot armament for a limited time. The following weapons will be added to the game with the upcoming update:

Stellar Symphony (5-star)
Deep Sky Blazar weapon series (4-star)

New Area: Black Shores

The enigmatic island of Black Shores is opening its ports for all the eager Rovers who want to know what awaits them in the next step of their journey. You will explore the mysterious island alongside the members of the Black Shores Organization.

There are a lot of new gameplay mechanics that will be introduced with the island, including portals, new puzzles, and more.

New Resonator Story Quest

The adorable member of Black Shores, Encore will receive her story quest during the Wuthering Waves 1.3 update. You will encounter her in Jinzhou, and take on a new unique adventure in the fantasy realm of Woolies.

Titled Small Wooly, Bid Adventures, Encore's story quest will be available after version 1.3 goes live.

New Echo

Kuro Games revealed a new enemy who is waiting in the Black Shores to serve as a skill check. This new entity, named Fallacy of no Return is an undead monstrosity whom you can challenge while exploring the island. After defeating it, you can unlock it as a new echo, whose skill will unleash a flurry of punches on your opponents.

Besides the Fallacy of No Return, you can also find two new shiny phantom echoes, The Gulpuff and Lumiscale Construct after the update goes live.

New Challenges

Version 1.3 will also add two new challenges for the Rover to participate in and win various rewards including Astrites.

One such challenge is titled the Retro Game Collector, where you will need to collect Retro Cartridges placed throughout the Black Shores. After submitting them on a Data Hub, you will need to face off against enemies to claim rewards. The more cartridges you submit, the higher the challenge will become, but the rewards will also increase.

A new Tactical Hologram challenge, The Inferno Rider will also be added to the game in Wuthering Waves 1.3 patch.

Events and Rewards

Wuthering Waves version 1.3 will also bring a set of new and returning events, which will give out Astrites, Shell Credits, and other rewards:

Gifts of Sea Breeze: 7-day login event which will give you 5x Radiant and 5x Lustrous Tides.
Where Star Slumbers: Exploration event that will give you rewards based on the feats you perform in The Black Shores

Quality of Life updates and Performance Optimizations

Kuro Games also announced a plethora of optimizations that the developers made to the game which will be added with the Wuthering Waves 1.3 patch.

Improvements to camera angles and lock-in system
Controller Compatibility for Mobile Devices
Directly teleporting you near your tracked objectives, including quests, enemies, etc.
New feature that will mark the area rich with the resources you are looking for. After you collect the items, the next area will be marked
Map Panel that will allow you to quickly move through the vast map
New Summary feature that will give you a brief description of the story so far if you decide to skip through the dialogs.
A lore encyclopedia where you can learn more about the world of Solaris-3
You can now see the unlock requirements for certain events
You can mark echoes as Discarded which will take priority while scrapping them off as well as batch Data Merge them.
UI optimization in various places.

There will be more system optimization which will be added with the Wuthering Waves 1.3 that Kuro Games are yet to disclose.
