As per leaks shared by Team Gemberry78, starting from Wuthering Waves 2.0, players will be able to switch the gender of the Rover (MC). This means that if you initially picked the male Rover, you will be able to switch to the female Rover, and vice versa.

This feature will have a cooldown of 24 hours, during which you cannot switch the Rover's gender again. After 24 hours are up, you can switch back to the male/female Rover, if you want to.

Like most RPGs, Wuthering Waves also gives players the option to choose either the male protagonist or the female protagonist at the very beginning. Once you choose a specific gender for the Rover, the choice is locked and you cannot undo it. This same mechanic applies to most HoYoverse games like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero.
