The Novice banner system is certainly the most unique out of the three present in Wuthering Waves. This is because it will disappear once a player can successfully acquire a 5-star Resonator in the banner. The characters that you can obtain from the Novice banner include:
- Jianxin (5-star Aero)
- Calcharo (5-star Electro)
- Encore (5-star Fusion)
- Verina (5-star Spectro)
- Lingyang (5-star Glacio)
A total of 50 convenes (pulls) can be used on this banner, with the 50th convene guaranteeing a 5-star character. A key thing to remember is that a single convene is not possible. Only x10 pulls can be done with a 20% discount on the Lustrous Tides, the currency used in the Novice banner. This means Rovers can do five x10 pulls with only 40 Lustrous Tides.
Once the Novice banner is removed, it is replaced by the Beginner's Choice banner, which allows players to unlock a 5-star Resonator of their choice. Every 10 convene will guarantee you a 4-star unit while 80 convenes allow you to choose a 5-star Resonator. After the selection, the banner will disappear similar to the Novice banner.
Wuthering Waves Standard banner system explained
Standard Character banner
The Standard Character banner in Wuthering Waves features the same five characters present in the Novice banner. However, the pity system is similar to the Beginner's Choice banner without the option to choose a 5-star Resonator. The main catch here is that this banner permanently remains in the game unlike the Novice or Beginner's Choice banner. The currency used in this banner is Lustrious Tide.
Standard Weapon banner
Similar to the Standard Character banner, the Standard Weapon banner features an identical pity system. An additional feature is the option to select one of the five weapons that you would like to pull. This will result in a 100% chance of receiving the selected weapon on the 80th pull at least. The weapons in this banner include:
- Lustrous Razor (5-star Broadblade)
- Cosmic Ripples (5-star Rectifier)
- Abyss Surges (5-star Gauntlets)
- Static Mist (5-star Pistols)
- Emerald of Genesis (5-star Sword)
Wuthering Waves Limited banner system explained
Limited Character Banner
The Limited Character banner in Wuthering Waves is the crème de la crème of the game's gacha system and generally, the most discussed banner. This is because they feature 5-star and 4-star Resonators that are not attainable in the Novice or Standard banners. These banners feature one 5-star Resonator and three 4-star Resonators.
Once you pull a 5-star unit in this banner, there is a 50% chance for it to be the banner's featured Resonator. This will mean that a total of 160 pulls will guarantee you the featured Resonator if you fail to obtain them in the first 80 pulls. Jiyan and Yinlin will be the featured 5-star Resonators in the first two Limited Character banners of the game. Radiant Tide is the currency used in this banner.
Limited Weapon banner
The Limited Weapon banner borrows some features from the Limited Character banner. Each banner will have a featured 5-star Weapon along with three 4-star Weapons. However, once you manage to pull a 5-star, it is guaranteed to be the featured weapon, unlike the Limited Character banner. The pity system remains the same as the Standard banner and the Limited Character banner.
This banner utilizes Forging Tide as its currency. The featured Weapons in the banners of the first update include the Verdant Summit and the Stringmaster.
