Wuthering Waves Changli Companion Story: Immortal Blaze guide

Immortal Blaze is Changli's Companion Story in Wuthering Waves. Players can team up with Changli to investigate the "Secret of Immortality" rumor in Hongzhen. This investigation eventually leads to a much bigger problem that eventually lets players know more about Changli's and Rover's past. While it is a lengthy quest, it doesn't feature complex tasks apart from a few puzzles.

You can start Changli's Companion Story: Immortal Blaze in Wuthering Waves by teleporting to Hongzhen in Mt. Firmament. Follow the quest marker and listen to a tale about a woodcutter and the "Secret of Immortality". Talk to three NPCs before Changli gives you a riddle to meet her at a particular spot.

Find the place "Next to a Ring and Hanging Eaves"

Changli's riddle tasks you with finding the place "next to a ring and hanging eaves". This is the tallest building in Hongzhen. Climb to the top of it and it will trigger the next objective, which requires you to head to the Pavilion at 13:00 - 15:00. Change the in-game time and go to the Pavilion to meet Changli.

Have a conversation with Changli before heading out to investigate the "Secret of Immortality". Keep following the quest marker until Abby intervenes.

Abby comments that it can smell a lot of frequencies coming from a cave and suggests that a human might be in danger. Go inside the cave to defeat Tacet Discords trying to kill an Explorer. Rescue the Explorer and bring him back to Hongzhen.

Talk to a few NPCs to know more about the Explorer named Wuli. Head over to the hotel where his girlfriend, Fuling, is currently staying. Talk to her and learn about her deteriorating health and the reason why Wuli went exploring for the Secret of Immortality. Return to the cave where you rescued Wuli.

You can find Wuli's diary and a letter given to him by Fuling. The latter has come to terms with her inevitable death and requests Wuli to move on. Exit the cave until you stumble upon a mirage of the Rover talking to an old man.

Rewind the Weiqi Board's time

Use the Chronosorter nearby and rewind time to fix the Weiqi Board. Listen to the conversations of Changli's master, Xuanmiao, and the Rover before a couple of Fractsidus members interrupt you.

Defeat the Fractsidus and follow the voice calling for help

Eliminate the Fractsidus. Soon after you defeat them, a Sonoro Sphere appears. Enter it and follow the voice of a little girl calling for help. She eventually defeats the Tacet Discords threatening her. Approach the girl and have a chat with her. This is the younger version of Changli signifying that something is seriously wrong within the Sonoro Sphere.

You have to solve a simple puzzle involving two pressure plates. The young Changli steps on the right plate and you have to step on the left plate. Activating both pressure plates opens the door and allows both of you to proceed deeper inside the Sonoro Sphere.

Burn some vines to continue forward before defeating a few Tacet Discords. Use the Tacetite Fulminate to break a fragile door and push further into the Sonoro Sphere before you find another pressure plate puzzle.

Find a way to get inside together

Make the young Changli step on the first pressure plate to open the door and reveal a Chronosorter. Use the Chronosorter to allow young Changli to come inside. Step on the pressure plates to open the next door. Defeat a Lumiscale Construct to head towards a light beam puzzle.

Activate the large pillar to start the light beam. Follow these steps to complete this puzzle:

Rotate the first pillar twice
Rotate the second-last pillar once
Rotate the final pillar thrice

Completing the puzzle summons a mirage of present-day Changli. After this, you can start exploring the Sonoro Sphere from Changli's perspective.

Continue on your path by defeating Tacet Discords, clearing roadblocks, and looking back at memories of Changli. You get to learn more about her tragic backstory and relationship with Master Xuanmiao. After this, walk through a gate to find another light beam puzzle set up by Master Xuanmiao.

This is a more tricky light beam puzzle compared to the previous one. Activate the large pillar to start the light beam and follow the steps mentioned below to complete Master Xuanmiao's puzzle:

Take the pillar shard on the left and place it on the bottom left pillar. Rotate the pillar twice.
Take the pillar shard in the middle and place it on the pillar in front of two rocks.
Rotate the pillar which is lit up by the first pillar once.
Rotate the bottom right pillar once.
Rotate the bottom left pillar once.
Rotate the middle pillar thrice.
Rotate the upper left pillar once
Rotate the upper right pillar twice

Once you do this, you can get an Advanced Supply Chest. Watch a cutscene featuring the young and present-day Changli before the Rover and Changli are reunited in the Sonoro Sphere. However, a Lightcrusher named Chrono Shadow appears.

Once you bring the Chrono Shadow to 25% HP, it regenerates all its health back. Deplete its health again to watch an epic cutscene where Changli completely burns the Sonoro Sphere from the inside which destroys the Temporal Disruption permanently.

Change the in-game time to two days later and talk to Xinyi. She provides information on Changli's proposed meeting location.

Talk to Changli and fulfill her wish of playing the Weiqi Board game with the Rover. Ask her some questions about the "Secret of Immortality", the game record, and the Sonoro Sphere before parting ways and completing the quest.
