Wuthering Waves may introduce skins in future patches, according to leaks
Starting with the Wuthering Waves 2.0 update, expected to be released around the end of December 2024, or the beginning of January 2025, Kuro Games may introduce skins to the popular RPG. The latest leaks on the Chinese social media platform, Tieba, posted by the leaker 潮落, suggest that the developers will soon add multiple skins, not just for various characters but weapons as well.
The developers are expected to launch these cosmetics for many limited and permanent 5-star characters. It is also speculated that the skins for the limited-time 5-stars may boast some special visual effects. However, the leaker is unsure if the visual effects will be present in the skins for permanent 5-stars.
The leaker 潮落 also mentions that players may be able to obtain a 4-star skin for free in version 2.0. Kuro Games may reward players with a brand-new outfit for the Glacio attribute sword user, Sanhua.
While not much is known about the cosmetics yet, the leaker did mention that the Wuthering Waves skins will be priced at a similar price range as its main competitor, Genshin Impact. While the latter offers skins in two separate rarities, costing different amounts each, it does not offer weapon skins, which many may look forward to in the former title.
Here's how much skins cost in Genshin Impact to provide players with an approximate idea of the upcoming skin prices:
- 5-star character skins: 2480 Genesis Crystals, which cost approximately USD 40.
- 4-star character skins: 1680 Genesis Crystals, which cost approximately USD 30.
However, it is recommended to wait for more info regarding the skin and their final prices.
