Wuthering Waves reportedly nerfs Xiangli Yao before final release

Xiangli Yao in Wuthering Waves is an upcoming 5-star Resonator that will soon be released on the second half banners of the ongoing version 1.2. He is an Electro main DPS that will be given out for free to all players. With only a few days remaining before his debut, the updated info on Hakush.in suggests that he has been nerfed.

Wuthering Waves leaks suggest Xiangli Yao's Resonance Liberation nerfed

Ahead of Xiangli Yao's scheduled release on September 9, 2024, in the Wuthering Waves 1.2 update, the developer seems to have slightly nerfed the scaling of his Resonance Liberation, Forte Circuit, and Sequence Nodes.

To understand the changes, players must first understand how Xiangli Yao's Resonance Liberation works. Upon casting it, it deals Cogitation Model DMG and allows him to enter the Intuition state, which offers additional buffs.

While the Cogitation Model DMG originally scaled at 1625.34% at Skill Attribute 10, the updated information in the Hakush.in database suggests it may have been nerfed to 1466.06%. Additionally, damage entry #16 in Xiangli Yao's Resonance Liberation was changed from 3250.68% to 2932.11%.

Xiangli Yao's Forte Circuit also seems to have been nerfed. Here are the changes made to his DMG entries:

• DMG Entry #7: 191.46% -> 168.48%
• DMG Entry #8: 510.55% -> 449.6%

While the changes may appear minor, this will affect Xiangli Yao's overall damage output.

Lastly, it is believed that Xiangli Yao's Resonance Chain was also significantly nerfed. Listed below are all the latest changes:

• S5: Additional Outro Skill DMG Multiplier 222.09% -> 222%; Additional Resonance Liberation DMG Multiplier 120% -> 100%
• S6: Resonance Skill Law of Reigns DMG Multiplier 100% -> 76%

These changes can also seen in the trial version of Xiangli Yao in the By Moon's Grace event quest. Overall, it is a big DPS loss for the Electro DPS at S6, but it shouldn't be an issue for F2P and light spenders.
