S+ tier
Jinhsi
Jinhsi is simply the most powerful character in Wuthering Waves right now. She deals an extraordinary amount of damage with little to no downsides. She also sports a good amount of synergy with other characters making her the go-to Main DPS choice for most team comps. Jinhsi benefits from all three buffs in the current towers featured in the Tower of Adversity, which further adds to her power level.
Verina
Similar to Jinhsi, Verina is by far the best support in the game. She heals a ton of HP back for her allies and herself, massively buffs the damage output of everyone on the team, and has an extremely powerful Resonance Liberation. She is reliable in every team comp currently in the game, making her a top choice in the Tower of Adversity.
Yinlin
Yinlin takes the mantle of the best Sub-DPS in the game at the moment. Dealing ridiculous damage and allowing her Main DPS to shine simultaneously makes her a valuable character. Additionally, she rounds out the best team comp in the game consisting of Jinhsi, Verina, and herself, which is a top choice for most players looking to complete the Tower of Adversity challenges.
Changli
Changli is the latest addition to the game and has comfortably slotted herself into the upper echelons in terms of overall power. She is a flexible character who can operate as a strong Main DPS and a Sub-DPS. This is useful in the Tower of Adversity to switch up team comps and save Vigor to use different Main DPS characters with Changli.
Jiyan
While Jiyan has lost his throne as the best Main DPS to Jinhsi, he is still no slouch when dealing damage and remains one of the best characters in the game. His Resonance Liberation and consistent damage output make him a strong candidate for any player's endeavors in the Tower of Adversity.
S tier
Encore
With the addition of Changli, Encore has definitely risen in power. While her unique and slow playstyle might be off-putting for some, she deals a huge amount of damage if you can master her rotation. Changli buffs her impact even further, making Encore a powerful Main DPS in the Tower of Adversity, especially in the Echoing Tower.
Mortefi
Mortefi continues to hold his spot as a top-tier Sub-DPS in Wuthering Waves. He is a reliable character who offers good damage and incredible buffs. You can't go wrong pairing Mortefi with characters like Jiyan and Jinhsi. As such, he is a solid choice for almost every tower in the current Tower of Adversity.
Sanhua
Much like Mortefi, Sanhua is an excellent Sub-DPS providing a lot of burst damage while buffing the consistent damage of her Main DPS'. She also pairs super well with Encore, which makes for a powerful team comp in the Echoing Tower in particular.
Havoc Rover
Havoc Rover is a powerful Main DPS. They are extremely easy to ascend, and have a simple kit which makes them an easy character to pilot in the Tower of Adversity. The inclusion of Changli further buffs their power as the Havoc Rover's Resonance Liberation is one of the best damaging abilities in the game.
A tier
The characters in the A tier can definitely work in certain towers in the current Tower of Adversity. However, they are often overshadowed by better options in the game. These characters provide strong buffs but are quite situational while also being complex to pilot. The A-tier characters include:
- Danjin
- Jianxin
- Spectro Rover
- Yuanwu
B tier
The characters in this tier don't measure up well to the others listed before them. They are either too hard to get the maximum value out of or simply don't provide enough to justify their inclusion over other characters. The characters in the B tier are:
- Calcharo
- Chixia
- Yangyang
C tier
Finally, the C-tier characters are the ones you should avoid. They offer little to no benefits over other characters. They are too weak in the meta at the moment and struggle to shine even under optimal conditions. The C-tier characters include:
- Lingyang
- Taoqi
- Aalto
