Wuthering Waves 1.2 leak shows Xiangli Yao's combat animations

Xiangli Yao has been drip-marketed for Wuthering Waves version 1.2, and prominent leaker, Mero, has recently shared footage of his gameplay from the beta test. He boasts slick attack animations and utilizes his robotic right arm to shoot lasers.

All of this has made him immensely popular amongst fans, especially since it was announced that Xiangli Yao could be a free reward in version 1.2.

Basic Attacks

Xiangli Yao performs five consecutive attacks, dealing Electro DMG. During the last one, his robotic right arm opens up to shoot an Electro laser.

Resonance Liberation

The Resonance Liberation is the main aspect of Xiangli Yao's kit. It allows him to enter the Intuition state which buffs his damage-dealing abilities and provides him three Hypercubes. The state lasts as long as he has at least one Hypercube.

Under its effects, Xiangli Yao's Basic and Heavy Attacks get stronger and are called Pivot-Impale. Additionally, his Resonance Skill and Dodge Attacks also get buffed and are called Resonance Skill Divergence and Dodge Attack - Unfathomed, respectively.

All the damage dealt by the above-mentioned abilities is considered to be Resonance Liberation damage.

Resonance Skill

During Xiangli Yao's Resonance Skill, he lunges forward to deal Electro DMG and reverts back to his position, as seen in the footage above. It is important to note that he is performing the Resonance Skill Law of Reigns in the leaked footage, contributing to the cube-like thunder animations.

Forte Circuit

Xiangli Yao's Forte Circuit abilities are quite unique in Wuthering Waves. It allows him to switch the type of Resonance Skill by acquiring Capacity and Performance Capacity stacks while upgrading his animations, as seen in the above footage.

When he has 100 Capacity stacks, his base Resonance Skill becomes Resonance Skill Decipher, which deals more damage and is considered to be Resonance Liberation damage.

When Resonance Liberation is active and Xiangli Yao obtains Performance Capacity stacks in the Intuition state, Resonance Skill is transformed into Resonance Skill Law of Reigns. It deals even higher damage by consuming a Hypercube and is considered Liberation damage too.

While Capacity stacks can be obtained by casting normal Resonance Skills and Basic Attacks, the Performance Capacity stacks can be gathered by using Resonance Skills and Basic Attack variants in the Intuition state.
