The Wuthering Waves 1.2 update has rolled out globally, introducing Zhezhi to the game's playable roster. The character has also received an exclusive companion quest titled True Colors, where players will learn a lot about her personality and background. Additionally, Rovers have to conduct a series of investigations to help her stand up against the owner of a fake painting business.

This guide will help you complete the Zhezhi Companion Story: True Colors in Wuthering Waves.

Wuthering Waves Changli Companion Story: True Colors quest location and guide

You can start Zhezhi's companion quest in Wuthering Waves by visiting the Pioneer Association, located west of Jinzhou City. After reaching the location, Zhezhi will call you at the Public Security Bureau, which is accessible from The Grand Library. Talk to her and enter the agency's official building to trigger a cutscene.

At the Public Security Bureau, you will witness an argument between Zhezhi and Baici, the head of the Shanyun Art Exchange. He has reportedly been accused of running a fake artwork business.

Since he denies the allegation and calls out Zhezhi for slandering his reputation, you intervene to help her by presenting the findings about a certain “Arcane Artist” at Tiger’s Maw Mine.

Apparently, Rover was entrusted with a special investigation before the trial took place, so the game plays the past incidents. At the Tiger’s Maw Mine, you will investigate two witnesses, starting with Huajin, who reports about the monster sighting. Next, talk to Jifeng as he gives his insight about the eerie entity.

Approach the scene of the eerie encounter only to find Zhezhi at the location. Now, talk to Shilang and scroll through the dialogues to progress further.

Find out about the Strange TD activities

You meet up with Chixia to investigate the Tacet Discord activities. Brace yourself to fight some enemies along the way. On a side note, you can play Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves during these action scenes.

Intervene the researcher and examine the painting on the ground, before talking to the injured citizen. Also, interview the onlookers to further the investigation.

The game will take you to Mingyan’s studio in Taoyuan Vale, where you will be tasked with investigating paintings, clothes, and more.

Basically, find more evidence to back up Zhezhi's claims in the Public Security Bureau. Investigate the broken vase near the window and the footprints outside, which will lead you to the Exile Camp.

Investigate the Exile Camp

At the Exile Camp in Gubei Pass, disguise yourself as one of the inhabitants. Since the locals here are working for Baici, your goal will be to collect more information. Walk around the camp searching for clues. Your disguise will be discovered soon enough, so be prepared to fend off the Exiles.

After defeating the enemies, you will return to the present time, inside the Public Security Bureau building. Zhezhi will recollect her past before revealing that she was the Arcane Artist all along. She will also stroke her brush over the painting at the table to showcase her forte ability.

Zhezhi's companion quest will come to an end once you enter the painting and defeat the Tacet Discord enemies.
