Super Smash Bros.,is a series of crossover fighting games published by Nintendo. The game features characters from various video games released by Nintendo like Mario, Fox, Link, Kirby, Samus Aran, Pikachu and many more. The game is all set to be released tomorrow for Nintendo 3DS.
Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai recently confirmed in the Famitsu interview ,with translation by Siliconera, that Princess Zelda and Sheik are different characters in the new 3DS and in upcoming Wii U games because of the Nintendo’s hardware limitations. In Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl, Zelda and Sheik were one character with the ability to interchange. But now they are seperated along with Samus and Zero Suit Samus because of hardware limitations in 3DS and now making up four roster spots.
He said in the interview:
“It’s basically due to the 3DS’ limitations, It was impossible to have both characters exist together [as one] on 3DS. However, reaching that limit can sometimes lead in good directions. Transforming characters had the drawback of ambiguous tactics and such, and I believe that they have become more fresh now.”
It was reported earlier, that Ice Climbers were removed form the rosters, due to similar hardware restrictions. The game is scheduled to release for Wii U version in November 2014.
