All Master Tapes can be converted from Polychromes, where 160 Polychromes equals a Master Tape of choice.

Since all Master Tapes eventually come from Polychromes, the latter is the premium Gacha currency, equivalent to Stellar Jades from Honkai Star Rail, and Primogems from Genshin Impact.
