Zenless Zone Zero Drive Discs are equivalent to an Artifact or Relic system in HoYoverse's previous games. It works as an armor piece in an RPG game, where a set of pieces grants bonus perks based on damage, defense, and other utility. Drive Discs are similar, where players can get different stats on each piece, and accumulate six pieces. However, unlike HoYoverse's other games, the set bonuses aren't all determined by six pieces, as they work in 4-set and 2-set.
This article will guide you through the basics of the Drive Disc system in Zenless Zone Zero, how to unlock it, how to farm them, and everything related to the music store.
Drive Disc full guide in Zenless Zone Zero
1) How to unlock the Drive Disc system
The Drive Disc system in Zenless Zone Zero unlocks after completing Chapter 2 Mission 5, Trace to the Source. It involves the Belobog Heavy Industries, where the Proxies assist Koleda and her team in retrieving a prototype machine from within the Hollow. In the process, players will face a challenging boss, called "Unknown Corrupted Complex."

The mission should end somewhere between Inter-Know level 25 or 26, and completing the mission will trigger a side quest, which will further unlock the Music Store just across the road from the video store.
This will be your destination for Drive Disc tuning, with the associated vendor Elfy.
2) How to farm Drive Discs
As soon as you unlock the Drive Disc system, the game will ask you to head to the Scott Outpost and interact with Roland. To farm Drive Discs, select "Yes, I want to check the mission details," and the game will automatically send you to the domain screen.
Here, you can select the type of Drive Disc you want to farm, alongside the Challenge Level that can be selected at the top-right of the screen.
Each domain has a buffed attribute for the player, alongside a special modifier allowing characters to deal extra damage via skills, counter, Anomaly buildup, and more. For example, let us take the "Monster and Weirdo" domain to help you navigate through rewards, modifiers, buffed attributes, and more.
To look for the available rewards, click on the first two items under "Reward Details." Hence, for the Monster and Weirdo domain, the available Drive Discs should be Swing Jazz and Chaotic Metal. Based on the Challenge level selected on the top-right, you can receive multiple rarities of the same Drive Disc set from the domain.
The buffed attribute shows "Ether" here, meaning that your characters will deal bonus Ether damage to enemies. Lastly, "special effects" shows that the domain increases the damage of special attacks and EX special attacks by 100%. This means that any action executed by your character through a basic attack or a charged skill will deal 100% additional damage.
3) Tuning
Tuning Drive Discs means you can select a set and use a specific currency to "tune" a random or multiple pieces of that set. The currency in question here is "Plating Agent," obtainable via dismantling Drive Discs or farming them from Scott Outpost.
To dismantle a Drive Disc, head to the Music Store, and select the "Dismantle" tab.
To optimize your tuning, select the exact piece of a Drive Disc set you want. For example, you need guaranteed drops of the "Fanged Metal" set. However, tuning with level 1 Music Store will yield random pieces, called "Partitions."
To select Partitions, upgrade your Music Store to level 2 upon reaching Inter-Knot level 35.
Furthermore, you can optimize the main stat for each Partition at Music Store level 3, which can be unlocked upon reaching Intr-Knot 40. The material required to optimize the main stat is called a "Tuning Calibrator," which is rare and can only be obtained from events and battle pass tiers.
4) Partition stats
As mentioned, there are six slots for Drive Discs, and can be slotted in two forms. Either, players can go for a 4-set bonus and 2-set bonus, or three 2-set bonuses. There are no available options for a 6-set bonus.
Here is the stats distribution for each piece:
- Flat HP (fixed)
- Flat ATK (fixed)
- Flat DEF (fixed)
- HP, ATK, DEF, Crit rate, Crit damage, Anomaly Proficiency
- HP, ATK, DEF, PEN, all Attribute damage bonuses
- HP, ATK, DEF, Anomaly Mastery, Impact, Energy Regen
Sub-stats include flat numbers of HP, ATK, DEF, and PEN, alongside the percentages of ATK, HP, DEF, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Anomaly Proficiency. The rolls of these sub-stats will be random for each piece.
