Every Agent in Zenless Zone Zero can be categorized based on their fighting type and element. These are the fundamentals of this title's gameplay, so it is important to learn about them to crack the combat system.

Elements (Attributes)

For starters, character elements involve a particular combat mechanism called Attribute Anomaly. Whenever an Agent deals cumulative elemental damage to an enemy using any of their abilities, they build up Anomaly. Once this reaches a certain level, the target is afflicted with the debuff effect of the corresponding Attribute.

The table below shows the special effects of every element in ZZZ:

Fire	Burn	Deals damage over time and causes additional interruption to Humanoid enemies.
Electric	Shock	Interrupts Mechanical enemies and triggers extra Electric damage upon hitting the target.
Ether	Corruption	Causes interruptions to Ethereal enemies. Attacking corrupted opponents deals extra Ether damage.
Physical	Assault	Increases the opponent’s Daze and staggers all types of enemies.
Ice	Freeze	Freezes all types of enemies and increases their CRIT DMG received. Hitting them with a heavy attack also triggers Shatter.

Bear in mind the damage from Attribute Anomaly scales on the Anomaly Mastery stat. Additionally, you can stack more Anomaly Proficiency on an Agent to boost its buildup.

The fighting style of an Agent influences their team role and playstyle. Zenless Zone Zero currently features five character specializations, which are as follows:

• Attack: Agents specializing in Attack usually excel at dealing damage and are usually the frontrunners for various team comps.
• Stun: Stun-type characters excel as DPS since they are capable of stunning opponents by quickly building up Daze.
• Defense: Characters in the Defense specialization take on the role of tank and are capable of absorbing quite a bit of damage.
• Support: The Support Agents do less damage compared to the rest but can provide various buffs to the team.
• Anomaly: Proficient at Anomaly Buildup and can quickly trigger Attribute Anomalies.

Daze mechanism

Daze is one of the key combat mechanisms in Zenless Zone Zero that enables you to stun enemies. This further provides a DPS window, which you can use to deal the maximum damage. Here’s how it works:

• Every enemy has a Daze bar underneath their HP, which fills up periodically as they sustain more hits.
• Your goal is to deal sufficient damage, accumulating maximum Daze, which will stun the target.
• This will also put the enemy in an unarmed state, and they will become susceptible to incoming damage.
• You should be able to trigger Chain Attacks once the target is stunned and accumulate more Anomaly Buildup.

Remember that Stun Agents in Zenless Zone Zero are proficient at accumulating more daze as opposed to an Attack or Support unit.
