The 2024 F1 Brazilian GP comes at a crucial juncture of the season. We're coming off a race in Mexico where Max Verstappen lost 10 points to Lando Norris, and there was a controversial incident between the two drivers.
The F1 Brazilian GP has always been a bag full of surprises for fans, and this time around, even the weather is expected to play a role. Sau Paulo is used to the race that has capped off a season in the past and has produced quite a few spicy championship deciders.
With that said, a lot is at stake this weekend including the fact that this one is a sprint weekend. So, what can we expect from the 2024 F1 Brazilian GP? Let's take a look.
#5 Keep an eye on Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso
Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso have been going through a whole world of pain in the last few races, especially with the recent raft of upgrades proving to be a monumental failure. With that said, this car has one key feature where it works brilliantly in the wet weather.
This was what helped Alonso in the F1 Chinese GP early in the year. Alonso tends to do some magic anyway at this track and it would be foolish to put it beyond him this time around as well.
#4 Weather could make fortune a big factor
The problem with wet weather races is that even though they're fun and have a lot going for them in terms of action, there's an element of luck involved. The timing of pitstops and even the timing of rain can make or break a race.
The way in which the championship is hanging by a thread right now, a lot would hinge on nailing everything, and unfortunately, that includes being lucky as well.
#3 Expect Ferrari to struggle in the colder conditions
Ferrari has won 3 of the last 5 races. The team has been on a roll and is trying to get closer to McLaren at the top. With that said, the weather for the F1 Brazilian GP is almost antithetical to the team's plans.
The cold weather is not the best for the car, as it does struggle to bring the tires up to temperature. For the race in Sau Paulo, the weather could make the weekend a struggle for the team.
#2 Expect a Mercedes resurgence
If there's one condition where Mercedes has seemingly worked perfectly this season, it is the wet weather. The car tends to find the right window in the colder conditions and two of the three wins have come specifically in those conditions as well.
With that said, could we see Lewis Hamilton winning his second home race of the season? Could it be a Mercedes triumph at the F1 Brazilian GP? That might be a step too far at the moment.
#1 Max Verstappen wins the 2024 F1 Brazilian GP
This might almost sound foolish at this stage considering how poorly Red Bull performed in Mexico, but the F1 Brazilian GP is a different kettle of fish. The demand for this weekend is not only a fast car, but a fast driver in the fickle conditions and a team that's brilliant when it comes to decision-making during the race.
This race might be the perfect opportunity for Max Verstappen to make use of the strengths that he and Red Bull have and make the most of it to clinch the best possible result.
We're backing Max Verstappen to win the 2024 F1 Brazilian GP and more or less seal the title battle.
