F1 Grand Prix of Great Britain
F1 Grand Prix of Great Britain

The 2024 F1 British GP was a spectacular race that swung in multiple directions. It had four different leaders: Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Oscar Piastri. Eventually, Hamilton, the F1 legend and seven-time world champion, prevailed.

If you want to check out the driver ratings for the F1 British G, click here. In this feature, we take a look at where the 20 drivers stand after Silverstone in the pecking order.

We also take a look at the pound-for-pound ranking over the entire season. So without further ado, let's get straight to it.

Criteria: We take the average of driver ratings of every race and rank the drivers accordingly.

F1 Drivers 'Pound for Pound' Ranking (After British GP 2024)

#20 Guanyu Zhou (Avg: 5.50)

Zhou has fallen to the bottom of the rankings, as his performances have just not improved to give Sauber a reason to retain him. The British GP was no different in that respect.

#19 Sergio Perez (Avg: 5.54)

It was another disastrous weekend for Sergio Perez who is seemingly imploding under the pressure he's under. P19 is horrible for the Mexican, asa he's capable of so much more.

#18 Logan Sargeant (Avg: 5.55)

Sargeant had a decent weekend in Silverstone, considering what was on the table for him.

#17 Lance Stroll (Avg: 5.58)

Lance Stroll's streak of getting the better of Fernando Alonso continued at the British GP to the surprise of many. He's slowly climbing the rankings and is now at 17th.

#16 Valtteri Bottas (Avg: 6.0)

It almost appears as if Bottas is hamstrung with the car, but at the same time, the Finnish driver has to show something that turns heads. It's just not happening at this stage and hurts him overall.

#15 Kevin Magnussen (Avg:6.08)

The issue for Magnussen has been his teammate's splendid form, which doesn't reflect well on the Dane and his overall rating.

#14 Daniel Ricciardo (Avg: 6.21)

It was an opportunity missed for Ricciardo. The start of the British GP weekend saw reports of the Australian being in line to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull. A weekend where he was outclassed by his teammate doesn't help, though.

#13 Pierre Gasly (Avg: 6.68)

The British GP was a total write-off for Pierre Gasly.

#12 Lewis Hamilton (Avg: 6.75)

Hamilton is climbing up these rankings at a rapid rate. The British GP winner is ever closer to the top-10 now.

#11 Fernando Alonso (Avg: 6.79)

Alonso is arguably having his worst F1 season in a while. The race in Silverstone was not much different.

#10 Alex Albon (Avg: 6.92)

Albon has made his way into the top-10 after the British GP. He continues to be a consistent performer for his team.

#9 Yuki Tsunoda (Avg: 7.13)

Tsunoda scored a point for RB this weekend. More than that, he all but shut down speculation of a mid-season move for Ricciardo by outperforming him this weekend.

#8 Oscar Piastri (Avg: 7.17)

Possibly a win or a podium went begging for Piastri. The Australian had a strong pace, but the result was not what he would have hoped for.

#7 Esteban Ocon ( Avg: 7.29)

It was a write-off for Ocon as well. The French driver couldn't get going with one strategic debacle after the other.

#6 Carlos Sainz (Avg: 7.50)

Sainz brought home strong points for Ferrari and was once the leading light for the team.

#5 George Russell (Avg: 7.63)

Russell secured pole position, and maybe a podium was still on the table for the driver. The power unit issue ruined everything for the Brit, though.

#4 Charles Leclerc (Avg: 7.75)

The wheels have fallen off Leclerc's 2024 F1 campaign, as the Ferrari driver has gone through a horror run since Monaco. He's down in fourth after being tied for first with Max Verstappen after his race win a few weeks back.

#3 Nico Hulken

berg (Avg: 7.92)

Possibly the unsung hero on the F1 grid, Hulkenberg is one of the top-3 drivers after another brilliant weekend.

#2 Lando Norris (Avg: 8.38)

Norris once again left a win on the table, but it was not his fault or on him either. The driver was brilliant during the British GP, and a better strategy would have got him the win.

#1 Max Verstappen (Avg: 8.63)

Verstappen continues to be the benchmark in F1, and his performances continue to drag the car to places it ideally wouldn't be in.
