The 2024 F1 Spanish GP was a nail-biter, and it came down to Max Verstappen's brilliance, which helped him clinch his third win in four races. The Red Bull driver nailed the start, jumped into the lead early, and then made the most of it. Lando Norris tried his best to overcome the deficit he had early on but couldn't. There were some impressive drives up and down the grid as drivers put together some impressive performances.

With that being said, where do the drivers find themselves in the pound-for-pound rankings? These rankings are calculated by taking the average rating of each driver in each race. The aim of these rankings is to find how each of the drivers stacks up when it comes to performance irrespective of the car. So without further ado, let's take a look.

F1 Drivers 'Pound for Pound' Ranking (After Spanish GP 2024)

#20 Logan Sargeant (Avg: 5.33)

Logan Sargeant finds himself at the bottom of the rankings, with an average rating of 5.33.

#19 Lance Stroll (Avg: 5.45)

Lance Stroll is in P19 at the moment, after the F1 Spanish GP. The Canadian will be hoping to take some meaningful steps in the future.

#18 Guanyu Zhou (Avg: 5.70)

The Chinese driver finds himself in P18. For a driver trying to secure his future in F1, this is just not ideal.

#17 Kevin Magnussen (Avg: 5.75)

Kevin Magnussen is another driver whose future seems uncertain. When that is the case, the Danish driver will be hoping to step up after the F1 Spanish GP.

#16 Sergio Perez (Avg: 5.95)

There was a time when Sergio Perez was P2 in the championship standings. He's fallen to P5 in those standings and finds himself in P16 in the pound-for-pound rankings.

#15 Valtteri Bottas (Avg: 6.10)

Bottas was in line for a strong result in the F1 Spanish GP. Unfortunately for him, the bad start once again ruined it.

#14 Daniel Ricciardo (Avg: 6.10)

Once a top-5 driver on average, Daniel Ricciardo is currently in P14 in the pecking order. The Australian had a decent Spanish GP but will be looking for better results in the future.

#13 Lewis Hamilton (Avg: 6.50)

Lewis had a strong F1 Spanish GP and with him regaining form, you'll see him climb these ratings very quickly.

#12 Pierre Gasly (Avg: 6.60)

Pierre Gasly is another driver who has been slowly picking things up. He is aided by better machinery compared to his teammate but he's still bringing the results home.

#11 Alex Albon (Avg: 6.80)

Alex Albon finds himself in P11 after a subdued Spanish GP. The Willams driver will be hoping for a better result in the next race.

#10 Fernando Alonso (Avg: 6.95)

Driving an unpredictable and scruffy Aston Martin has hurt Alonso this season, as he had a not-so-perfect race weekend in Barcelona.

#9 Oscar Piastri (Avg: 6.95)

Oscar Piastri would have hoped for more this season. Currently, he finds himself in P9 after another disappointing performance in F1 Spanish GP.

#8 Yuki Tsunoda (Avg: 7.15)

Yuki currently finds himself in P8. He'd be hoping for a better run at the F1 Austrian GP.

#7 Carlos Sainz (Avg: 7.33)

Carlos Sainz started the season in much better form. It has slowly petered out as the Spaniard has been forced to take a backseat at Ferrari.

#6 George Russell (Avg: 7.35)

George was slightly unlucky to miss the podium at the F1 Spanish GP. The British driver is now P6 as he continues to climb the ratings.

#5 Esteban Ocon (Avg: 7.55)

Esteban Ocon has an uphill task in front of him. The French driver needs to secure a seat for 2024 while trying to drive a slower car than his teammate and still impress the grid. He's currently in P5 in the overall pecking order.

#4 Nico Hulkenberg (Avg: 7.60)

Hulkenberg has been the flag bearer at Haas. He almost scored a point for the team at the F1 Spanish GP. It will be interesting to see if this form sustains itself in the coming races.

#3 Charles Leclerc (Avg: 8.30)

Charles Leclerc finds himself in P3 in the pecking order and it is down to the fact that he continues to be consistent. The F1 Spanish GP was not the best for him or the team but that's where the team begins the learning process.

#2 Lando Norris (Avg: 8.35)

Lando Norris is the second-best driver in F1, and the race proved it. He's very close to Max Verstappen overall but there's still a tiny step that he needs to take to eclipse the Red Bull star.

#1 Max Verstappen (Avg: 8.80)

Max Verstappen is without a doubt the best driver in F1 right now. He's shown it again in Barcelona as he fended off Lando Norris in a car that was obviously slower than the McLaren.
