Jenson Button has always been a late bloomer in F1. It took a long time for him to win his first ever race, and even longer to win his first, and possibly last, Drivers’ Championship. In the end, he may have won the title by just 11 points, but the dominant first few races ensured that he had enough points to win the title.
Button won 6 of the first 7 races in the 2009 season, ensuring that there was a sizeable lead in the table. Of course, it was more due to the car as the Brawn GP used the double diffuser which nobody came up with, giving them an upper hand over the rest of the field. In spite of that, it was still a hot streak as it helped him get the necessary points, especially since the rest of the season went downhill for him.
