The trailer for Hollywood star Brad Pitt's 'F1' movie has been released worldwide. The movie is set to hit cinema halls in the summer of 2025.

The movie has been created in collaboration with two major studios, Warner Bros and Apple Original Films. The trailer gives a hint about the story, which shows Brad Pitt as a retired Formula 1 driver looking to make a comeback in the world of racing with an all-new team called APXGP. Along with Brad Pitt, the trailer also features actors such as Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Abdul Salis, Will Merrick, and a few others.

Here's a look at 5 interesting facts about the 'F1' movie:

5. The APXGP race car looks like an F1 car at first glance

Revealed in the pit lane of Silverstone during the 2023 British Grand Prix weekend, the fictional APXGP race car looks like an F1 car at first glance. However, under the skin, it is essentially a 2022-spec Formula 2 chassis built by Dallara.

Although the attention to detail is overall good, the limitations on the design part of the F2 chassis have restricted the filmmakers from using wider F1-spec wheels.

4. Several scenes showcase digitally altered versions of real Formula 1 cars

To make certain scenes look authentic, the filmmaker has used digitally altered footage from real Formula 1 cars. One scene showcasing the iconic uphill Eau Rouge section of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has been taken from Pierre Gasly's 2023 Alpine car, as reported by an F1 fan page on X (formerly Twitter).

3. Co-producer Lewis Hamilton has trained Brad Pitt for around 3 months in the art of driving a Formula 1 car

To make sure the close-up driving scene feels realistic, the movie's co-producer Lewis Hamilton went ahead to train Brad Pitt in the art of driving a Formula 1 car. The purpose of the training was to prepare Pitt and Damson Idris for managing the physical demands of driving a Formula car.

Speaking with The Athletic, Hamilton praised Brad Pitt for his keen observation skills.

“For someone who hasn’t raced, he’s definitely got a keen eye. He loves watching MotoGP, so he’s always been a racing enthusiast. He already had a knack for the lines, and he was fully on it, which was good to see.”

2. Scenes from actual Formula 1 race weekends, with real F1 drivers and teams, make the movie feel 'authentic'

The Top Gun: Maverick-fame director Joseph Kosinski has filmed a lot of scenes during Formula 1 race weekend on different tracks. This was made possible due to the support from Hamilton and FIA. The idea behind using scenes with actual Formula 1 drivers and teams was to make the film look as authentic as possible.

1. Kosinski's experience in filming with real fighter jets will likely elevate the experience of watching F1 content on a big screen

Considering how Kosinski showcased the fast-paced scenes with fighter jets in Top Gun: Maverick, the on-track footage in the film is expected to look incredible as well.

Hamilton believes that using the camera technology from the movie world would change the experience of watching Formula 1 content on a big screen.

“Joe (Kosinski) is an incredible director. If you just think of what he has done with that in terms of the dog fights you saw with those jets, which was pretty epic, bringing that technology and that viewpoint into our world, I think it is going to be amazing.” Hamilton said.
