From excelling on track to featuring in commercials, F1 drivers have come a long way. Thanks to the boom of digital media, drivers now enjoy global fame, and it is not just limited to the sport.
Banking on this, the fastest men on earth have found themselves making cameos in chart-topping music videos and Hollywood blockbusters.

#1 Lewis Hamilton and company's cameo in the Cars series

"Cars" is a well-received and renowned movie series based on motorsport. The first movie pulled in thousands of fans across the globe and for all the right reasons. The installment had Mario Andretti and Michael Schumacher voicing their characters, while Fernando Alonso dubbed the Spanish version.
In the second installment, Lewis Hamilton, Alonso, David Hobbs and Vitaly Petrov dubbed their respective languages. In Cars 3, Hamilton voiced Hamilton in English, while Alonso and Sebastian Vettel did it in Spanish and German, respectively.
#2 Lightyear by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc
The Scuderia Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc cameoed as the voice artist in Lightyear by Disney Pixar. While Leclerc dubbed in the Italian language, Sainz did the Spanish version.
This was the Monegasque driver's first voice cameo as he explained his journey on Disney Italia's official YouTube channel, wearing a Scuderia Ferrari suit. Toy Story's Lightyear franchise gained ample traction in the motorsport world because of him.
#3 Romain Grosjean's cameo in David Guetta's Dangerous
Globally renowned DJ David Guetta released a music video named Dangerous in 2014, where two F1 drivers are seen battling each other on track. The French musician paired up with Romain Grosjean, who was with Renault at the time.
Guetta and company used the 2012 Lotus E20. The video amassed 158 million views and counting as of 2024, and is one of Guetta's most popular.
#4 Lewis Hamilton and his F1 car's cameo in Stormzy
Stormzy, in his Longevity Flow music video, featured Lewis Hamilton, where the seven-time world champion was seen standing next to his Mercedes Formula 1 car in front of Kensington Palace.
The video was released in June last year, and as of now, it has amassed over 1,800,000 views on YouTube.
#5 Lewis Hamilton's debut as XNDA with Christina Aguilera
Back in 2018, Lewis Hamilton made his music debut with Christina Aguilera in the latter's single named Pipe. Hamilton had a rap verse in the song, and he pulled it off under the pseudonym "XNDA."
It was only after a few years that most people realized the seven-time world champion's presence on the song after the former unraveled it himself. This song remains the Mercedes star's only appearance as XNDA.
Bonus:
The F1 world missed a potential Lewis Hamilton cameo in Top Gun: Maverick. Tom Cruise, who is the lead actor in the movie, offered the Mercedes ace a pilot's role.
However, Hamilton could not make it as he failed to take out time for shooting. He was occupied in a season-long title battle with Red Bull's Max Verstappen in 2021.
