The 2024 F1 season is one of the weirder ones where the grid does not feature even a single rookie driver. It's not often something like this happens as the sport has more or less maintained a healthy flow of talent.
On the other hand, for every 2024 season, there is possibly a 2025 season where talent is knocking at the door and trying to break through. Next year, we're going to see quite a few young drivers make their debuts in the sport. Most of them are from different driver academies, which makes their path to the top seamless. Who are these drivers? Let's take a look.
A look at F1's future talent for 2025
#1 Kimi Antonelli
Is he the next Max Verstappen? Probably not. Those shoes are too big to fill. Having said that, Kimi Antonelli has shown that he's a special talent. A talent that deserves a seat in F1 and someone who is going to turn heads next season one way or another.
It's still not official that he will be replacing Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes next season, but the announcement seems a mere formality at this point. Antonelli looks to be one driver to keep an eye on in 2025, as this could be the start of something big.
#2 Ollie Bearman
Ollie Bearman showed that he could be someone special behind the wheels of an F1 car in Jeddah earlier this season. He would be in a Haas next season, with Esteban Ocon alongside him.
Bearman's future belongs with Ferrari, and the first two seasons at the American team could determine what's next for the Brit in the sport.
#3 Jack Doohan
The Australian was an impressive driver in junior categories and has been a regular fixture in the paddock with Alpine. However, at one point, it was almost a hard sell when it came to the chances of him getting a shot in F1.
It does look like Doohan might finally get a shot with Alpine in 2025. He's a strong driver and deserves a seat in F1. A rookie season alongside Gasly will be an interesting launchpad for him.
#4 Liam Lawson
If Liam Lawson continues to not get a seat in F1 and has to sit out once again in 2025, then not only would that be a travesty, it would be an indictment of the sport.
By the looks of it, there's a possibility that Red Bull will get back to its senses and give him a shot with RB. The persistent indecision with the second seat might have something to do with the team dealing with the undeniable case of giving a young driver like Lawson an opportunity in the sport. Especially since he proved himself last season.
#5 Isack Hadjar
There are four races left in the F2 season, and by the looks of it, Isack Hadjar might just be the runaway favorite to win the title. The Red Bull junior has a decent lead over the pursuing competition, and if that is anything to go by, the driver is in prime position to win the title.
Winning the F2 title more often than not should make an undeniable case for a junior driver and if that criterion fits, Hadjar could jump straight to the big leagues and make his debut in F1 next season.
