Following the many rumors about Sebastian Vettel moving to Ferrari in the future, Fernando Alonso was bombed with questions about this matter during a press conference on Thursday. However, he seemed very calm about it and echoed Stefano Domenicali’s (Ferrari Team Principal) earlier claims that he would have no problems working together with the current Red Bull driver. Even when asked about the possibility of having Lewis Hamilton as a teammate again, Alonso stayed calm and said that it would not be a problem either.
Alonso: “It is always the same with Ferrari and rumors. The same happened with me when I first won the Championship back in 2005 and I got there five years later. Maybe Seb will do the same and come in five years! But whichever teammate comes here in the future, we will try to work just as well as we are doing with Felipe.”
Vettel however, said to be flattered by Ferrari’s interest in him, but does not think about leaving Red Bull yet. He commented: “It is very nice to hear that. I respect Ferrari a lot; I respect Fernando a lot. I see it as a compliment. I am flattered, obviously. I have always said that Ferrari is a great team with a great history, a great tradition, in Formula 1 in particular. But as I have said before, I am very happy with where I am at the moment.”
