Paris, Dec 19 (IANS)
Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One's commercial ringmaster, has rejoined the F1 board, according to a post from the sport's official Twitter account Friday. Ecclestone has run F1 since 1978 and joined on the board as a non-executive director. In April, he was on trial for paying $44 million dollars bribe to a Bavarian state bank executive to help him maintain his four-decade grip on the sport, reports Xinhua.
In August, Ecclestone settled his bribery case after arranging a controversial $100 million payment.
A settlement is allowed in German criminal cases if the prosecution, the aggrieved parties and the court agree.
