Team Principal of Mercedes, Ross Brawn, has apologized to Michael Schumacher for the mechanical problem in Canada on Sunday. From the seven races so far this year, Schumacher had to retire four times due to technical issues.
“He suffered a hydraulic issue which left his DRS jammed open and it was not possible to fix it in race conditions,” said Team Principal Brawn. “I can only apologize to Michael for a further technical failure.”
If the technical problems did not occur in the four races, it would be likely that Schumacher was the leader of the drivers’ title. The German driver dropped out of third places in both China and Australia. Also, he was hit by Romain Grosjean in Malaysia. Monaco and Montreal ended due to a loss of fuel pressure and a stuck DRS flap.
None of these events where caused by Schumacher himself. His only mistake was the collision with Bruno Senna in the Spanish Grand prix.
