
Carlos Sainz Jr. is a Spanish racing driver who competes for Williams in Formula One (F1). He graduated from karting to junior formulae in 2010. He shot to fame after winning the Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship with DAMS in 2014. The Spaniard, who was a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, debuted in F1 with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2015 and remained at the team till 2017.
After spending over two years at Toro Rosso, Sainz transferred to Renault in 2018. In 2019, he joined McLaren and remained at the team until the end of 2020. In 2021, he started driving for Scuderia Ferrari, replacing Sebastian Vettel. After being replaced by Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, Sainz joined Williams in 2025. He has secured four F1 Grand Prix wins, six pole positions, four fastest laps, and 27 podium finishes, as of April 2025.
