Born on 1 July 1989, Daniel Ricciardo is an Italian-Australian Formula One racing driver. He competes for McLaren under the Australian flag, as of 2024. It was at the 2011 British Grand Prix, that Ricciardo made his debut with the HRT team as part of a deal with Red Bull Racing. So far he has achieved 8 Grand Prix victories in Formula One, his first three wins being in Canada, Hungary, and Belgium. With Red Bull, he also won the 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix, the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and the Chinese and Monaco Grand Prix in 2018. Ricciardo followingly signed with Renault and raced for them in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He joined McLaren for the 2021 and 2022 Formula One season and secured his first race win at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo was dropped by McLaren in favor of Oscar Piastri and he came back to Red Bull as a reserve driver. Ricciardo participated in the latter half of the 2023 Formula 1 season with sister team, AlphaTauri and returned to full-time racing. He was offered a contract with the renamed, Visa CashApp RB Team in 2024. The Aussie drove for the outfit until the Singapore GP. He was replaced by the Red Bull Junior driver, Liam Lawson after the Singapore GP 2024. As of October 2024, Daniel Ricciardo has not confirmed if he will be racing in Formula 1 in the next season. Ricciardo is often considered the face of the Formula 1 grid owing to his jovial nature. He gained popularity after the introduction of the Netflix series, Drive to Survive.
