Torro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo put in a lot of effort to finish on top on the second of the three days of testing on the Silverstone Circuit. The Australian managed to test for Torro Rosso in the morning, while clocking in the best time, and then switched to the sister team Red Bull Racing’s RB9, using which he managed to set the 3rd best time of the day.
Sandwiched between the Australian’s time was another Torro Rosso junior driver Carlos Sainz Jr. McLaren, who finished on top yesterday, managed 5th with the help of Oliver Turvey.
Three other regular Formula 1 drivers took part in today’s test namely, Williams’ Pastor Maldonado, Sauber’s Nico Hulkenburg and Force India’s Paul Di Resta. The Venezuelan finished 9th overall followed by Hulkenburg in 10th. Di Resta put in the 14th fastest time of the day.
One more day of testing remains and tomorrow we will see Sebastian Vettel, Felipe Massa and Adrian Sutil take to the track along with Susie Wolff, who is currently the only female test driver in the sport.
