2014 Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat has earned his FIA Super License and will drive for the team during the first practice sessions of the United States and Brazilian Grand Prix.
Kvyat will replace Red Bull bound Daniel Ricciardo at Toro Rosso next season and has already clinched the GP3 Drivers’ championship this season. The Russian qualified for the License by satisfying the FIA’s criteria when he completed 102 laps in the Misano circuit in Italy.
Toro Rosso is believed to be keen to get Kvyat some experience before the actual thing as the driver has only raced in single-seaters since 2010. He will replace Jean-Eric Vergne in the practice session of US Grand Prix and will take the place of Ricciardo in the Brazilian Grand Prix.
