#2 Austrian Grand Prix 2016

The 2016 Austrian Grand Prix came down as a thunderbolt on the Mercedes drivers as they ended up in crashing into each other for the 2nd time, the first being Barcelona. Lewis Hamilton after an immense lap of 67 seconds put his car on pole followed by Nico Hulkenberg, Jenson Button, Kimi Raikkonen, Daniel Riccardo, Nico Rosberg, Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel and Filipe Massa completed the top 10.
As soon as lights went out both Vettel and Rosberg started to charge as Hulkenberg began to drop grid positions propelling Button into 2nd and Kimi into 3rd and also Rosberg comfortably got past the red bull of Riccardo. By lap 7 Hulkenberg was demoted to P6 as both Max and Rosberg passed him and Raikkonen overtook Jenson Button. Nico was first out of front-runners to come inside the pits and with the yellow soft tires as Hamilton opted out to stay out for a longer stint but soon he as well came into the pits however a bad stop cost him time as he saw himself behind Rosberg. Kimi followed into the pits too as he came out behind the two red bulls giving Vettel a comfortable lead however the lead was short-lived because his tires gave up and he was forced to retire.
The fight for the lead between two silver arrows came up to the last lap where an aggressive Hamilton went wheel to wheel with Rosberg, however, got pushed out of track by his teammate as they crashed again for a second time as Hamilton re-joined the track damaging Nico’s car. With potential less damage, Lewis Hamilton raced past Rosberg to take victory as the other Mercedes continued to crawl behind Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen.
