Fernando Alonso - 8th

Fernando Alonso yet again with another strong finish for McLaren when the harsh reality is that this year's car struggles to compete above and beyond 8th place.

Could this be Alonso's final summer break as an F1 driver?

The Spaniard's future is unsure but we may know more in the upcoming weeks throughout August.

The two-time world champion is apparently very disappointed with his team's efforts of coming up with a competitive car.

The highlight of Alonso's performance on Sunday was unlapping himself by overtaking Valtteri Bottas but would eventually be lapped again by the Fin.

Stoffel Vandoorne - DNF

Stoffel Vandoorne's future in Formula 1 could be in real doubt as the Dutchman has hardly improved from his debut season last year.

Sunday saw Vandoorne face his third DNF of the season and the last time we saw Vandoorne finish in the points was the second race of the year in Bahrain.

There are high rumours of either Lando Norris or Carlos Sainz taking his seat in 2019.

Vandoorne has a lot to do to change the bosses minds.
