F1 Penalty points: Drivers' penalty points after the Azerbaijan GP

The F1 penalty points system was first introduced to keep driving standards on the grid above a certain level. As a part of this system, any driver that accumulates 12 points in a 12-month period faces a ban of one race. The first and most recent example of it was this weekend in Baku, where Kevin Magnussen was forced to miss the F1 Azerbaijan GP as he hit the 12-point mark in Monza.

This weekend, he was replaced by Ollie Bearman for Haas, and will be back with the team in the next race in Singapore. These F1 Penalty Points are awarded to the drivers for transgressions on track, which include causing a collision, dangerous driving, etc.
