Lewis Hamilton maybe leading the Driver's Championship by 14 points, but he has had some luck getting to that top spot so far this season.
His first win of 2018 in Azerbaijan saw his teammate race leader Valtteri Bottas bow out with just a few laps remaining after his car picked up debris on one of the Fin's tyres.
Hamilton has also struggled for pace in his Mercedes in the races prior to the French Grand Prix where he lost out to Ricciardo in Monaco and then finished 5th in Canada while his rival, Sebastian Vettel, won in Montreal.
But despite all of that, Hamilton has shown why he is the defending champion.
And his third win of the season in France pushes the Briton up to the top of the F1 power rankings.
