After having dominated the first four races of the season, Red Bull are sitting pretty at the top of both the points table. They have two excellent skillful drivers who have been doing an excellent job and nothing seems to be going wrong this season. However Red Bull knows that there is a huge difference in being at the top and staying at the top. Now that they have achieved the first, they will concentrate on the latter. For this, Barcelona will be a perfect test.
Red Bull have passed the first test catching the top 2 positions in the race with Mark Webber taking the pole ahead of Vettel. Barcelona is a track that allows some free runs but follows up with long stretches of turns, thus tyre degradation will be an important factor as Mark Webber rightly points out.
Mark webber said in an an interview concerning this that: “The run to the first corner is crucial and of course I want to stay in P1 to manipulate the race a bit in my favour. And then we will see how the tyre degradation goes.” He will be itching to stop his team-mate from notching another win.
On whether his team mate Sebastian Vettel will try to attack him in course of the Spanish GP, Webber daringly said, ” I am a big boy – I’m not so worried.”
